Easy Barbecued Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 ½ tsp fresh oregano (or ½ tsp dried oregano)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ⅓ cup red wine
  • 1 tbsp chili powder (preferably organic)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Add garlic, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, red wine, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Place shrimp in a single layer in a baking dish.
  5. Pour the sauce evenly over the shrimp, coating them well.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until shrimp are cooked through.
  7. Remove from oven, stir, and serve hot.

Serving Suggestion

For a true Southern experience, serve your barbecued shrimp over a slice of homemade bread. Toasting it adds a nice crunch and helps soak up that delicious sauce—you won’t want to waste a drop!
