Description

As men age, the function of their prostate gland tends to change. Urtioca dioica, also known as nettles, is an herb thought to play important roles in supporting a healthy prostate. Nettles is also used to support healthy joint and respiratory functioning.

Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica L.) leaves sting by injecting formic acid, histamine, and the neurotransmitters acetylcholine and 5-hydroxytryptamine into the skin. Cooking or extraction blocks the sting and releases the nutrients. Stinging Nettle also contains glucoquinones, chlorophyll, minerals (especially silica) and vitamins. This extract is standardized at 1% to 2% plant silica.

Nettles have been used for centuries for a multitude of purposes, and continue to be harvested from the wild for food and medicine today. Perhaps its most popular use is turning the leaves into stinging nettle tea, which is a common natural allergy relief remedy. It’s also proven to benefit skin, bone and urinary health as well.
